Nestlé 2025 EAT-Lancet Response: 50% Regenerative by 2030

-

Nestle 2025 EAT-Lancet Response details measures to ensure a healthier, more sustainable, more equitable food system.

Over 20 percent of major ingredients are produced on farms that practice regenerative farming. The aim is to reach 50% by 2030.

The company is spreading affordable, nutritious foods. These could be milk powders containing milk and plant protein blends, fortified foods with more easily absorbable iron, and novel methods to add less sugar and more fiber to milk products.

The measures involve the ongoing improvement of recipes through innovation, responsible marketing, portion advice, and a goal to sell more of the healthier half of the portfolio.

There is growing access to cheap goods. In 2024, the corporation served 132 billion helpings of low-priced, micronutrient-enhanced foods. Access has foods that contain good quality protein like Maggi Soya Chunks and Nido Milk and Soya. It leverages R&D know-how and local knowledge to meet preference at affordable prices.

The company is reacting to the need of fewer ultra processed foods. It offers convenient and healthy choices, such as items that complement or supplements a home-cooked meal, such as Maggi bouillons and air fryer recipe mixes, meals, and seasonings. On-pack, ingredient lists and nutrition information are provided in a clear format.

The just, equitable food system has engaged farmers support via the Nestle Cocoa Plan and Nescafe Plan, training on labor laws and the provision of decent, safe working environments, and evaluation, response, and reporting on the risks associated with human rights.

The Net Zero Roadmap includes methane reduction. The progress is revealed through the Non-Financial Statement. The decline in methane emissions is 20.5% since 2018. Work involves over 100 climate projects and the creation of regenerative agriculture on dairy farms and the investigation of feed solutions to lower methane.
