The REWE Group has received the ECR Sustainability Excellence Award 2025 for its work on the EUDR Best Practice Standard. The project, done together with partners from trade and industry, was recognized for helping build a shared system that supports companies with the new EU Deforestation Regulation.
The goal was simple but needed teamwork. REWE Group and its partners developed an open, scalable standard that makes it easier to share and compare supply chain data. It helps businesses collect and exchange key information in a way that’s legally safe, transparent, and practical.
The open-source design means any company can use or build on it. It’s made to handle complex supply chains where tracking product origin is critical. The idea is to give the industry one shared base — not everyone building their own version — which saves time and builds trust across the sector.
The recognition came during the ECR Awards 2025, presented by GS1 Germany. The event highlights projects that push cooperation across retail and manufacturing. For REWE Group, it marks another step in how sustainability and digital systems now work hand in hand.
