Nestlé will invest CHF 563 million to build a new Nescafé production facility in Samut Prakan, Thailand, expanding its coffee manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand in the domestic market and support exports across Southeast Asia.
The new factory is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2028. It will produce a full range of Nescafé products, including soluble coffee, coffee mixes and ready-to-drink coffee beverages.
The site will also include an advanced distribution centre designed to improve inventory management, shorten delivery times and make supply chains more efficient.
Nestlé said the factory will create more than 500 jobs and purchase over CHF 100 million worth of locally sourced ingredients and raw materials each year, providing continued support for Thai farmers and suppliers.
The facility will use advanced manufacturing technology, robotics, automation and AI-enabled systems to improve production efficiency, product quality and sustainability. It will also feature Nestlé’s latest coffee extraction and aroma recovery technology to help preserve the flavour and aroma of roasted coffee.
The investment has received support from Thailand’s Board of Investment as part of the country’s Bio-Circular Green (BCG) economy strategy.
Nestlé has operated in Thailand for more than 130 years and has worked with local Robusta coffee farmers for over four decades through plant distribution and agricultural programmes focused on improving productivity and climate resilience.
The investment reflects continued demand for coffee products across Asia and strengthens Nestlé’s manufacturing and distribution network in one of its largest coffee markets.
What happens next?
Construction of the new facility will continue over the coming years, with production scheduled to start in late 2028. Once operational, the factory is expected to increase Nescafé production capacity, improve regional supply chain efficiency and support future export growth across Southeast Asia.
