Aldi Recalls Custard Tarts Over Allergen Risk

-

Aldi has recalled its PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked 6 Pack Custard Tarts after undeclared allergens were found on the label.

The recall covers stores across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Tests showed the tarts contain egg, milk, and wheat (gluten) and may also contain hazelnuts, sesame, and soya. None of these were listed on the packaging.

The Food Standards Agency said the mistake makes the product unsafe for people with allergies or intolerance to any of those ingredients, or for anyone with coeliac disease.

Aldi has taken the tarts off sale and placed notices in every store explaining the recall.
It has also told allergy-support groups, so their members are warned.

Customers are being told not to eat the product.
They can return it to any Aldi store for a full refund — no receipt needed.
Anyone wanting more information can call 0800 042 0800 or visit help.aldi.co.uk.

The recall applies to all best-before dates of the 6-pack tarts.

Food recalls like this are uncommon but important.
They make sure shoppers with allergies stay safe and trust what’s on the label.
