Asda launches first-ever Meal Deal at £3.74 nationwide

-

Asda launches first-ever Meal Deal for £3.74, marking a major change in its Food to Go counters. The set offer includes one main, one snack and one drink, and is available in all Asda supermarkets, online and in Asda Express stores.

The new fixed price replaces the existing 3 for 2 deal at Food to Go. Unlike rivals, customers do not need any loyalty card or membership to access the £3.74 price point.

The offer covers a wide choice, with 132 mains, 336 snacks and 222 drinks included. Options range from Asda own-label products such as Chicken and Bacon Sandwich or Apple Slices with Toffee Dip, to branded lines like Doritos and Coca Cola Zero.

Asda confirmed the new Meal Deal is the lowest priced non-membership option currently in the UK market. The retailer said shoppers can save up to 50 percent compared to buying items individually.

The launch also extends to all 478 Asda Express stores, designed for customers wanting food to go on convenience trips.

Competitor pricing shows Tesco non-member Meal Deal at £4.25, Sainsbury’s at £3.95, and Morrisons at £4.00. By comparison, Asda sets the offer at £3.74, placing it below all other listed retailers.

The retailer expects strong early demand, forecasting more than 700,000 Meal Deals sold in the first week. Current best-sellers at Food to Go include the Cheese & Onion Sandwich, which alone moves more than 50,000 units weekly.

All products included in the £3.74 deal are fully HFSS compliant ahead of incoming UK rules on multi-buy promotions.

Asda launches first-ever Meal Deal as part of its Food to Go range, delivering a national roll-out of the £3.74 price point both in-store and online.
