Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stopped by the Danfoss Facility in Tianjin during his full diplomatic visit to China. Although the stay didn’t last long, it offered much more than a chance to take pictures. Rasmussen spent time talking to Danfoss staff, viewing the company’s advanced factories and observing how new technology and sustainability work together at this famous site.
The visit was part of a program marking 75 years of Chinese and Danish diplomatic relations. Heading a group of Danish businesspeople, Rasmussen was traveling abroad to enhance relationships and look for ways to grow sustainably.
It’s amazing to observe how Danish innovation is helping to shape the world while we go through the facility, Rasmussen said.
A Smart Manufacturing Lighthouse is a recognized model.
Tianjin’s Danfoss Facility isn’t like common production sites. That year, the World Economic Forum named it a Lighthouse Factory, an award given to some of the world’s best manufacturing facilities. The company employs the latest digital advancements which support both operational efficiency and protecting the planet.
President Arthur Xu of Danfoss China made it clear that this site will serve China for years to come. Danfoss started working in China more than 30 years ago. Our Tianjin facility is an outstanding example of how we combine smart features and sustainability into all our work.
Making Green Energy Montana’s Leading Source
A big highlight at the Tianjin facility is its innovative energy system. Using sunlight as energy from start to finish for the entire site reduces their carbon footprint and helps Danfoss reach its carbon neutral target.
Tianjin is key to our efforts to become more sustainable, Xu said. Making progress isn’t only about coming up with new ideas; it’s also about doing so safely.
The company is now present in China.
Rasmussen used the visit to Tianjin for one stop among several in China. Other than meeting Wang Yi, the delegation focused its talks on climate policy, trade and efforts to cooperate in industry.
Danfoss now has more than 5,000 workers in China at 12 separate locations. With its Haiyan facility still under construction, the company is on track to have its biggest site anywhere in the world.
The reason the Danfoss Facility in Tianjin is important.
The Tianjin facility of Danfoss mixes the strengths of Danish innovations with strong Chinese working relationships. The plan shows how global manufacturing might adopt new technology and still meet its climate goals.
Because Danfoss is thriving in new markets and across China, Tianjin still represents the benefits of joining together technology, concern for the planet and global partnership.
