YEDEKA Minden-Hannover has opened a new Bio-LNG station in Mittenwalde. It is the first REEFUEL filling station in Brandenburg. The site supports low-emission truck deliveries across the region.
Around 500 LNG trucks are already in use. All vehicles will run on Bio-LNG by early 2026. The target is a fleet of 650 trucks. Fuel is supplied by Alternoil under a long-term agreement.
Mittenwalde joins five other sites. These include Lauenau, Wiefelstede, Osterweddingen, and Landsberg. A sixth station will open in Freienbrink later this year. Once complete, every logistics location will support Bio-LNG refueling.
In 2024, the company saved 22,500 tons of CO2. With the full rollout, total savings may reach 45,000 tons per year. The fuel meets REDII standards and uses waste-based biomethane and green hydrogen. It is non-toxic and leaves no residue.
The Mittenwalde launch adds capacity to the EDEKA Minden-Hannover Bio-LNG network. It supports the wider shift to lower-emission freight across the full delivery system.
