Hillshire Brands recalls voluntarily some State Fair Corn Dogs on a Stick and Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick.
This is after extraneous pieces of wood sticks were found in the batter of some products. The company has indiscriminately taken the affected items off the market because the issue is limited even though it has done this out of caution.
Only the products manufactured at the plant of Haltom City with the code M582+P894 are subjected to recall. The other State Fair or Jimmy Dean products are not affected. The date of production of the affected items lies between March 17, 2025, to September 26, 2025.
Hillshire Brands has ensured that the problem is limited to this one location. The company also pointed out that none of the other facilities or products under the brands are subject to this recall.
Products that are affected are certain SKUs of State Fair Corn Dogs on a Stick and Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick. The unbranded products that are associated with the facility are also recalled. Those consumers purchasing the products are not advised to consume them and they should call Hillshire Brands to get advice.
To retailers and the category managers, the recall reinforces the current significance of product monitoring and the safety of the supply-chai n in the frozen prepared foods segment. The high demand of corn dogs and breakfast products makes even small recalls in isolated cases to influence the category planning and shelf availability.
Hillshire Brands said that the recall is voluntary and precautionary. The company offered a consumer hotline where it could be contacted with questions and support on the affected products.
The recall of the State Fair Corn Dogs and Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick by the Hillshire Brands highlights the importance of food safety to preserve the trust in the shelves of the supermarkets.
