A Winery Giving Back — With Purpose
Lewis Cellars is doing more than making wine. It’s building a legacy rooted in community.
In its second year, the Napa Valley winery has awarded $275,000 in grants to 13 nonprofit organizations across Napa County. The 2025 Lewis Cellars Community Grants Program focuses on real-world challenges: education, food insecurity, domestic violence support, and environmental education.
This latest donation pushes the winery’s total community investment close to half a million dollars — all in just two years.
And it’s not stopping there.
Local Grants, Long-Term Impact
The 2025 grants are part of a growing initiative by Lewis Cellars to uplift the area where its employees live and work. This year’s funds support a range of frontline programs, including:
Fresh food access for low-income families at the Downtown Napa Farmers Market
Outdoor education field trips through Napa Resource Conservation District
STEM and woodshop electives for middle schoolers at Silverado
Arts programs for Hispanic seniors and families via Puertas Abiertas
Crisis response and domestic violence support by NEWS Napa
These aren’t symbolic donations. They’re targeted investments in grassroots change.
“These nonprofits are doing critical work,” said Dennis Bell, Vice President at Lewis Cellars. “We’re honored to help them reach their goals and expand their impact.”
Community as Core Strategy
Lewis Cellars’ grants program isn’t a marketing play — it’s part of the brand’s identity. With the opening of its new estate in Stags Leap District this summer, the winery is deepening its roots in Napa by funding causes that matter to its local base.
Each grant application was reviewed by a panel of Lewis employees, ensuring the selection process reflected community perspective — not just corporate interest.
Launched in 2024, the grants focus on seven pillars:
Youth development
Food access
Education
Environment
Health and wellness
Arts and culture
Social services
This approach reflects a broader shift happening in the wine industry — where local impact and environmental responsibility are becoming vital to brand trust.
