PLANTERS launches new peanut flavors for America’s 250th

-

The PLANTERS brand has launched two limited-edition peanut products in the United States to mark America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026.

The new products — PLANTERS Ranch Seasoned Peanuts and PLANTERS Sweet Cayenne BBQ Seasoned Peanuts — are available exclusively through Walmart stores and Walmart.com for a limited time.

The launch adds to growing activity across the US FMCG snack market, where brands are increasingly using bold flavors and seasonal packaging to attract shoppers during summer events and holiday periods.

The limited-edition range also arrives during a milestone year for the PLANTERS brand, which marks its 130th anniversary in 2026.

One flavor combines roasted peanuts with ranch seasoning, while the second uses a sweet-and-spicy barbecue profile with cayenne heat. Both products contain 7g of protein per serving.

The packaging uses Americana-themed designs linked to America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, targeting summer gatherings, outdoor events and seasonal snacking occasions.

According to the company, the launch reflects growing consumer demand for familiar but stronger flavor combinations across snack categories.

Industry data referenced in the announcement showed ranch remains one of the most widely used flavor profiles in US foodservice, while sweet-and-spicy combinations continue gaining momentum across snacks and sauces.

The launch also highlights how retailer-exclusive product partnerships remain important inside the Walmart snack aisle, particularly for limited-time seasonal products designed to increase impulse purchases and shopper engagement.

Across the broader flavored peanut category, brands continue introducing bolder seasoning profiles as competition increases in packaged snacks and convenience foods.

The two new products are now available nationwide for a limited time while supplies last.

As seasonal snack launches continue across the US FMCG sector, the new PLANTERS peanut flavors add another example of how legacy brands are using flavor innovation and retailer exclusives to drive attention in crowded supermarket categories.
