Sunkist Growers and Fruit Growers Supply Announce Strategic Reorganization

-

Sunkist Growers, Inc. and Fruit Growers Supply Company have announced a joint plan for Sunkist Strategic Reorganization, effective November 1, 2025.

The transaction forms a new California cooperation which will be the holding company of the two. The model unites Sunkist experience in citrus marketing and the supply chain business of Fruit Growers Supply.

New Structure For Growth

The two organizations affirmed that the restructuring aims at improving customer care, providing efficiency, as well as market presence in citrus industry. Part of transitioning is the approval of a new five-year strategic plan by the boards of Sunkist and Fruit Growers Supply.

Since 2017 the companies have been working with a common management system. This orientation is based on that alignment and both sides of the board lead in the new parent company.

The restructuring is an indication of a coherent method to sales, marketing and supply operations among the growers and customers.

Long-Term Partnership

Sunkist Growers was established in 1893 and is owned by over 1000 citrus growers in California and Arizona. Fruit Growers Supply is a company with a century-long history of supplying agricultural inputs, which was founded in 1907.

The two have been cooperating sister companies over the decades and the decision formalizes their relationship. The organizations are undergoing a merger under a single structure, and it is hoped that this will help them adapt to the changing market conditions in the citrus industry.

Transition Details

The executives of both organizations will form the leadership team of the holding company to continue with the continuity. The customers, growers and employees will enjoy a hassle-free transition without service interruption.

Sunkist Growers will still be targeting citrus marketing and Fruit Growers Supply will remain in the agricultural supply industry. The integrated parent company will focus on achieving greater innovation, closer relationship with customers, and new value chain efficiencies.

The declaration reflects the increasing demand of scale and coordination in fresh produce cooperatives. By doing this, Sunkist and Fruit Growers Supply will be in a position to offer their products in competitive citrus market under a single cooperative outfit.

The Sunkist Strategic Reorganization takes effect in November 2025.
