Woolworths Expands Scan&Go Trolley Across NSW, VIC, and QLD

-

Woolworths has announced the expansion of its Scan&Go Trolley following a successful trial in New South Wales. The digital supermarket trolley, which allows customers to scan, bag, and track their spend in real time, will roll out to 25 new stores across NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.

The scan and the GO wagon were launched in August 2024 for the first time, and were developed at home by Wulworth’s digital team. This makes the existing scan and the GO service, but removes the need for store owners to use their own equipment. Instead, customers unlock a screen with tablet style using everyday price cards and add it to their wagon to shop.

The trolley provides live budget tracking and lets customers scan and package. At the end of the store, customers continue to self -service check to pay.

The company confirmed that more than 70% of test users became repeated customers, with young families citing real -time budget control as a significant advantage. Woolworths described it as another step in offering flexible buying options online, direct-to-boots and traditional formats in the store.

Now the scanning and Go Trolley offer include 20 places such as Hornsbi, Revesby and Waringa Mall in NSW. Seven Vic sites include Malvarn and Mornington East, with eight stores launched in QLD including NUSA and Beslike heads.

Woolworths stated that the device was designed for speed, convenience and control, and will continue to develop its customer experience as part of the strategy.
