SPAR Slovenia has launched national initiative to support students with limited resources within families as a new school year begins. In cooperation with the Anita Ogulin Association, the program relying on the message of filling bags and hearts together calls on the people to donate key school supplies in all SPAR and INTERSPAR stores between 11 and 25 of June 2025.
Every customer is able to give in-store. There are special trolleys at each entrance to keep those collected things. The products find their way right to children of low-income households.
The price of SPAR Slovenia private-label SPAR Office notebooks was also reduced at this period. The other method of involving more people is the discount.
The Anita Ogulin Association claims that the amount of families that require assistance with back to school expenses has increased dramatically within the last year. In 2023 the organization helped 215 children. This increased to 435 in the year 2024.
The rise indicates that more families find themselves in economic pressure as they pay to get basic schooling supplies.
SPAR Slovenia will also provide a donation of school materials of the value of 5,000 at the end of the drive. Collection of items done along with that donated by the company will be delivered in July.
The supplies will be provided to their families by means of the Chain of Good People program developed by the Anita Ogulin Association. In this way, the children will be assisted even before the start of a new school year in September.
The Anita Ogulin Association has been cooperating with SPAR Slovenia many years. The organization (previously ZPM Ljubljana Moste-Polje) provides primary schools in the whole country.
The campaign is aligned with the broader social initiatives of SPAR Slovenia, which undertake annual activities/projects on the family, education, and needs. The company still serves the communities where it operates through customer-based donations combined with the contributions of the company itself and special offers in shops.
