ALDI cuts cheese prices by up to 30 cents across range

-

ALDI has reduced prices on a wide range of cheese products, cutting up to €0.30 per pack across multiple lines in stores from April 15, 2026.

The move covers everyday staples including Emmental, cheddar, cream cheese, feta and brie, with both ALDI Süd and ALDI Nord applying reductions across selected items.

This is the 15th price reduction campaign by ALDI so far this year, reinforcing its long-standing price leadership strategy in the European grocery market.

Prices on key lines have been adjusted immediately in the chilled dairy section. Reductions include up to €0.30 on products such as feta, Limburger and Grana Padano, while smaller cuts of €0.10 to €0.20 apply across sliced cheeses, soft cheeses and processed formats.

The changes span a mix of private label ranges, including MILSANI, LYTTOS and CUCINA, which form a core part of ALDI’s value-led assortment.

The price cuts come at a time when dairy remains a high-frequency purchase category for households, making it a key battleground for supermarkets competing on everyday value.

By targeting cheese, ALDI is focusing on a staple category that appears in regular shopping baskets, increasing visibility of price positioning directly at shelf level.

Across Europe, retailers continue to adjust pricing strategies as competition intensifies around essential grocery items. Discount chains in particular are maintaining pressure on pricing to retain cost-conscious shoppers.

ALDI has not indicated how long the new pricing will remain in place, but the repeated reductions this year suggest further adjustments could follow across other categories.

What happens next?

Further price activity is likely as retailers respond to ongoing competition in the discount segment. Cheese and other dairy lines are expected to remain a focus area, with supermarkets continuing to balance pricing, margins and shopper demand across private label ranges.
