Walmart expands Gorilla Commerce partnership with nationwide store launch

Gorilla Commerce is expanding its retail footprint across the United States after securing nationwide placement for its Gorilla Grip Bath Tub Mat in Walmart stores, marking the company’s first large-scale in-store rollout under its flagship brand.

The launch represents a significant step in Gorilla Commerce’s omnichannel growth strategy, following several years of success on Walmart Marketplace. According to the company, Gorilla Grip products have achieved more than 40 bestseller placements since joining the marketplace in 2024, while Gorilla Commerce was recognised by Walmart as its Outstanding Home Seller of the Year in 2025.

The Gorilla Grip Bath Tub Mat has been selected as the first product for nationwide store distribution after demonstrating strong online consumer demand. The product has been part of the company’s portfolio for more than a decade, with over two million units sold.

The in-store rollout is scheduled to coincide with Walmart’s Back-to-College shopping season and will include dedicated endcap displays in stores across the country.

The expansion highlights an increasingly important retail trend, with marketplace performance becoming a pathway for suppliers to secure physical shelf space in major supermarket and mass retail chains. Retailers are using online sales data, customer reviews and demand trends to identify products with proven consumer appeal before committing to nationwide store distribution.

For Gorilla Commerce, the move extends its presence beyond digital marketplaces into traditional retail, supporting its broader strategy of growing across multiple sales channels while continuing to invest in product development and retail partnerships.

The company, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, supplies home, kitchen, bath, outdoor and pet products and has built its business through online retail channels, particularly Amazon and Walmart Marketplace.

The nationwide Walmart launch strengthens the retailer’s home and household assortment while giving Gorilla Commerce access to millions of in-store shoppers across the United States.

As retailers continue integrating their online marketplaces with physical stores, similar marketplace-to-store expansion opportunities are expected to become increasingly common for brands capable of demonstrating sustained customer demand and strong sales performance across digital channels.
