Clorox Completes $580m ERP Rollout Across US and Canada Operations

-

Clorox has completed the full rollout of its new SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across the United States and Canada, marking a major milestone in the company’s long-term digital transformation programme.

The implementation follows a five-year investment programme worth $580 million and replaces a legacy system that had been in place for more than two decades. The new cloud-based platform now supports core business functions including finance, supply chain, sales operations, manufacturing and supplier engagement.

Clorox said the upgraded system is designed to improve operational visibility and coordination across teams by enabling real-time data sharing. The company confirmed that demand planning, order management and production scheduling are among the areas already benefiting from the new platform.

According to Clorox, the ERP rollout also strengthens supplier collaboration by improving data consistency and responsiveness across the supply network. This is expected to support more reliable replenishment cycles and better alignment between manufacturing output and customer demand.

The scale of the rollout reflects one of the largest technology transformations in the company’s history. More than 5,000 employees were trained on the new tools through over 2,500 training sessions, representing more than 38,000 hours of training activity. A total of 21 manufacturing plants were onboarded onto the new system as part of the deployment.

For grocery retailers and wholesale partners, the upgrade is expected to improve execution performance across Clorox’s North American supply chain. Enhanced forecasting accuracy and integrated workflows are aimed at reducing manual processes, improving lead-time visibility and supporting more stable product availability across store networks.

With the system now fully operational, Clorox said its focus will shift toward unlocking further value from the platform. Priority areas include margin improvement, efficiency gains and deeper use of connected data to support faster decision-making across the business.

The company described the new ERP environment as the digital backbone for future growth and a foundation for building a more resilient and responsive operating model.
