Conad has expanded its PetStore Conad network to 200 stores across 17 Italian regions as the supermarket group continues investing in specialist pet retail.
The company said the format is maintaining double-digit growth, supported by ongoing expansion at a pace of around two new store openings per month.
PetStore Conad was launched ten years ago to respond to growing demand for specialist pet products and services that extended beyond traditional grocery retail.
The retailer said the business has developed into one of Italy’s larger specialist pet retail operators, combining pet food, accessories, technical products, and in-store services within a dedicated retail format.
According to Conad, PetStore Conad generated €160 million in revenue during 2025, representing growth of 15.7%. The company expects revenue to reach €180 million in 2026.
The format currently offers almost 15,000 product references alongside promotional campaigns, multipack offers, and value-focused pricing strategies.
Conad has also expanded services linked to the pet category, including grooming, self-service washing facilities, laundry services for pet accessories, and veterinary-related support solutions.
The company said trained specialist staff remain a central part of the retail model, helping position stores as dedicated pet care destinations rather than standard grocery extensions.
