The retailers Sainsbury and Argos have announced a recruitment spurt across the UK with 19,000 seasonal roles to be filled in advance of the 2025 Christmas trading season. The new jobs will encompass 17,000 jobs at Sainsbury stores and 2,000 at Argos. Daily operations will be facilitated by seasonal workers in supermarkets, convenient stores, fulfilment centre and home delivery services. The positions will be from filling shelves and serving clients at cashiers to filling online orders and handling deliveries during last-minute festivals.
The temporary contracts shall last between four to twelve weeks, depending on the place and job. The applicants may recruit via Sainsbury Christmas job portal or locally in the stores. The hourly pay ranges are ranging between PS12.60 and PS15.35, based on positions and localities.
