A recall was issued by woolworths New Zealand of its fat Beef Mince of 18 percent in 1kg and 500g packs whereby small pieces of plastic may enter the product.
Woolworths as well as Countdown stores in the North Island together with beef mince with Best Before date 05/07/2025 are those recalled.
The beef mince which has been recalled is a product under Woolworths house brand. There are no other beef products involved. According to the firm, all consumers who purchased this beef mince are not to consume the meat and should take the same back to any store to be reimbursed.
Nobody has complained about falling ill because of this product but the company has advised anyone who has consumed it and is not feeling well yet to consult the doctor.
The recall is limited to north Island stores.
Woolworths notes that the priority is food safety and apologise about inconveniences.
