Huhtamaki executive team change as Johan Rabe exits role

Huhtamaki has confirmed a leadership change within its Global Executive Team.

Johan Rabe, Executive Vice President, Digitalization and Process Performance, will leave the company. He has decided to pursue other career opportunities outside the group.

Rabe will remain in his current role through the remainder of the year to support a transition. Huhtamaki stated that his successor will be announced at a later date.

The change affects one of the company’s key technology and performance roles. Rabe has been responsible for digitalization and process improvement across Huhtamaki’s global operations.

Huhtamaki said the transition will be managed in a structured process through year-end.

The current members of the Global Executive Team are:

Ralf K. Wunderlich, President and CEO; Fredrik Davidsson, President, Foodservice Packaging; and Sara Engber, President, Fiber Packaging.

Thomas Geust serves as Chief Financial Officer. Axel Glade will join as President, Flexible Packaging, effective 1 July 2025.

Ann O’Hara is President, North America. Sami Pauni serves as Executive Vice President, Sustainability, Corporate Affairs and Legal.

Johan Rabe continues as Executive Vice President, Digitalization and Process Performance until 6 December 2025 at the latest.

Ingolf Thom is Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Safety. Changsheng Wu is Executive Vice President, Procurement.

Huhtamaki did not announce any further changes to its executive structure at this time.

The company employs around 18,000 people and operates 102 sites across 36 countries.

Its packaging solutions are used globally across foodservice, retail, and consumer product categories. The group focuses on hygiene, shelf life, and sustainable materials.

In 2024, Huhtamaki reported net sales of EUR 4.1 billion.
