Aptar Closures has expanded its portfolio of e-commerce-ready closures to help beauty, personal care and home care brands protect products during online delivery while supporting sustainability goals.
Announced on 8 July 2026, the new portfolio includes four closure solutions—Embrace, E-Simplicity, Future Disc Top and E-Disc Top—designed to reduce leakage, withstand parcel shipping and improve the consumer unboxing experience as e-commerce continues to grow.
According to Aptar, online sales now account for nearly half of global beauty sales, driven in part by social media platforms. The company said this has increased demand for packaging that can protect products throughout the fulfilment and delivery process while reducing the need for additional packaging materials.
All four closures have passed Amazon ISTA-6 package testing, which evaluates packaging performance during e-commerce shipping. They are also available in versions made with post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
The four closures are designed for different packaging needs:
- Embrace is a premium flip-top closure with built-in protection against accidental opening and leakage while maintaining a high-end appearance.
- E-Simplicity features a visible tamper-evident tear band and eliminates the need for shrink bands or liners, helping reduce packaging materials.
- Future Disc Top is a mono-material polyethylene (PE) closure with a locking ring that helps prevent leaks during transport and supports recyclability when paired with PE or PET bottles.
- E-Disc Top combines a concealed locking mechanism with a standard disc-top design after opening, while also reducing the need for secondary packaging.
The expanded portfolio reflects the growing focus on packaging that can withstand e-commerce distribution while meeting consumer expectations for convenience and sustainability.
For FMCG brands and retailers, closures that reduce product damage during delivery can help lower returns, reduce packaging waste and improve the online shopping experience, particularly as beauty, personal care and household products become increasingly popular through e-commerce channels.
As more retailers expand online sales, packaging suppliers are expected to continue developing solutions that balance product protection, recyclability and operational efficiency.
