ATLANTA, United States — Graphic Packaging Holding Company has elected Larry M. Venturelli as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective June 11, 2026, following the company’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
Venturelli succeeds Philip R. Martens, who is retiring from the Board after serving as a director since 2013 and as Chairman since 2016. The leadership transition was announced by the global consumer packaging company on Thursday.
Graphic Packaging is one of the world’s largest producers of sustainable consumer packaging, supplying food, beverage, foodservice, household, and consumer goods brands across international markets.
Leadership transition at Graphic Packaging
Venturelli has served on Graphic Packaging’s Board of Directors since 2016 and has held positions on the Nominating and Corporate Governance, Audit, and Compensation and Management Development Committees.
Before joining the board, he held several senior leadership roles at Whirlpool Corporation, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
The appointment marks a planned succession as Graphic Packaging continues to focus on innovation, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable packaging solutions for global consumer brands.
The company acknowledged Martens’ contributions during a period that included significant growth and strategic development. Martens brought extensive manufacturing and executive leadership experience to the board, including his previous role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Novelis.
Graphic Packaging designs and manufactures packaging primarily from renewable or recycled materials and operates a global network of design and production facilities.
The board leadership change comes as packaging manufacturers continue investing in sustainable materials, operational efficiency, and new packaging technologies to meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements.
Graphic Packaging said Venturelli will work alongside President and Chief Executive Officer Robbert Rietbroek and the executive leadership team as the company advances its long-term growth strategy.
The appointment places an experienced manufacturing and consumer products executive at the head of the board as Graphic Packaging continues expanding its position in the global consumer packaging market and the broader US Packaging Industry.
