Metsä Board to showcase packaging strategy at Interpack 2026

-

Metsä Board will present its “Lead the Pack” strategy at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 7–13 May. The company will focus on packaging innovation aimed at food, foodservice, healthcare and retail applications.

The Finnish packaging producer, part of Metsä Group, will highlight how its strategy supports brand owners in developing more competitive and future-ready packaging solutions.

At the centre of its showcase will be lightweight folding boxboards, white kraftliners, foodservice boards and dispersion barrier boards. These materials are positioned as alternatives supporting reduced material use and lower reliance on fossil-based packaging.

Metsä Board will also present Muoto®, a moulded fibre packaging solution developed by Metsä Spring. The company says the product expands options for plastic replacement in packaging design.

A new FastTrack availability service will also be introduced at the event, alongside design-to-market collaboration tools aimed at supporting faster packaging development.

The company said packaging demand is increasingly shaped by recyclability requirements, material efficiency targets and Scope 3 emissions considerations across supply chains.

Metsä Board will also host daily Design for Packaging Impact Workshops during the exhibition. These sessions will focus on how material choices affect packaging performance, functionality and sustainability outcomes.

On 11 May, the company will take part in Interpack’s Circular Economy Day. Sustainability Manager Kaisa Munukka will deliver a presentation titled “Towards holistic value creation in pharma packaging – interlinking nature and climate at the Circular Economy.”

Interpack 2026 is expected to bring together global packaging suppliers, brand owners and manufacturers to explore next-generation packaging technologies and circular economy solutions.

Metsä Board said its presence at the event will demonstrate how its “Lead the Pack” strategy is being translated into practical packaging development support for customers across multiple industries.

The focus keyphrase Metsä Board Interpack 2026 reflects the company’s central role at the exhibition and its wider positioning in sustainable fibre-based packaging.
